It is illegal under NSW law for a property developer to make a political donation to a local councillor, yet Waverley's current Mayor, Councillor Will Nemesh is employed by a property developer.
The potential for conflicts of interest is far too significant for someone who is both a councillor and property developer's employee.
Councillor Nemesh shouldn't run again as Mayor, and also should recuse himself from any council decision benefiting individual developers or groups of developers.

Waverley Mayor, Councillor Will Nemesh, works for the property developer Fivex in Planning and Public Affairs. It's inappropriate from a governance and risk standpoint that he's making decisions that impact property developers, irrespective of whether Fivex is directly involved in Waverley projects or competes against Waverley developers elsewhere in Sydney.
This petition requests that Councillor Nemesh not seek another term as Mayor and in future recuses himself from any further Council decisions that impact property developers and closely related entities like commercial real estate agents.
It will be presented both to Waverley councillors and governance-related bodies outside the Council.
